the covenant
two promises we never trade away.
these aren't settings to toggle. they're the reason undertext exists — read below exactly what each one means, and where every word on the page actually comes from.
our two promises
- Private, always. Nothing you do here is collected, sold, or tied to you. What you read, write, and search stays on your phone. The only things that ever leave are your question to Grace and your voice when you speak to her — and even those are kept by no one and traced to no one.
- Open to everyone. Every screen works with the text size you need, the motion you can bear, and the screen reader you rely on.
These aren't features. They're why undertext exists, and they are never traded away.
where the words come from
the hebrew, greek, aramaic, KJV, and sacred name edition are undertext's own data — served from undertext.org, never resold, never rebundled. the modern english translations (NIV, Amplified, NASB, and BSB) are read live from YouVersion under their own licenses, one verse at a time, and never stored on your device. the full account of every text, with its license, lives at sources & licenses.
the same two promises govern both: what's ours stays ours and stays private, and what's licensed stays exactly what its publisher allows — nothing more. read the details at privacy and accessibility.
